Joseph & Celeste Tamburello $70 Million PowerBall® Jackpot Winners – 03/21/2012

Did you buy your Powerball ticket in Tiny Silver at the Tiny Silver Relatives Pharmacy?

That is where the winning ticket in Wednesday’s $70 million Powerball jackpot was sold.

The ticket bought has a estimated value worth a $41.5 million lump sum payout.

The blessed numbers are 32, 43, 53, 55, 56 and the Powerball number of 6, the world wide web-site posted late last night.

The odds of winning the jackpot are 1 in 175 million.

Wednesday’s jackpot, while massive, pales compared to February’s jackpot of $336.4 million, won with a ticket bought in Rhode Island supermarket.

Powerball is played in 42 states, the District of Columbia and the U.S. Virgin Islands.

New Jersey is home to other Powerball winner, Sandra McNeil, a Morristown resident who won $211 million on March 13, 2010.

The Tamburello's did not know that they had the winning ticket until Friday evening. Joseph was on the phone together with his sister when they asked if they knew that the POWERBALL winning ticket was bought at their local pharmacy, Tiny Silver Relatives Pharmacy. "I had no idea about where the winning ticket came from until my sister told me. That is where I always buy my lottery tickets," recalls Joseph. Immediately Celeste got onto the computer to look up the winning numbers. Separately they read off the numbers to her husband. With each number Joseph became increasingly excited until they "Jumped out of his chair like his butt was on fire asking what the Powerball number is," recalls Celeste. Shocked and thrilled that they were holding the winning ticket, Celeste says, "I am going to trade in my crème puff Saturn for a new Cadillac!" Joseph is looking forward, "to taking an amazing cruise holiday with my spouse."

The game, which was introduced in New Jersey in 2010, gives players nine ways to win. The top prize is won by matching white balls in any order, and the red Powerball.

"Congratulations to these blessed lottery players who bought the winning ticket and to the retailer who sold it," said the Lottery's Executive Director Carole Hedinger. "For selling this $70 million ticket, the retailer has become another of the Lottery's 'lucky locations' overnight."

The $70 million jackpot winning ticket was bought at Tiny Silver Relatives Pharmacy, ten Church Street, Tiny Silver in Monmouth County and matched the five white balls and the POWERBALL in last night's drawing.
